Het Haveke’s surroundings are ideal for relaxing and inspiring short breaks.

Nature

The village of Eefde neighbours the Gorssel ram, a vast natural landscape with wonderful possibilities for hiking and biking. Also the stork-village near the flood plains of the temperamental Ijssel-River are worth more than one excursion.

City

The close-by more than 800 years old Hanseatic city of Zutphen offers everything for an eventful day, as does its sister-city Deventer. The magnificent old city center with its over 400 monuments, historic façades and courtyards invits for a stroll. Unique is the Librije, a beautifully preserved 16th century library of manuscripts on chain, built-on the the Walburg Church. Or discover the city by water with the so called “Fluisterboot” the whisper-boat floating on the canals and the Berkel river.

Zutphen offers a lively shopping district. Relax from delightful shopping in one of the typical coffee-shops such as the world-famous “De Pelikaan” or the “Volkshuis”, a onehundered years old alcohol-free, serving as a training workshop for challenged people.

Culture

Eefde is located in the middle of the triangle of the cities of Zutphen – Deventer – Apeldoorn. All three offer ample facilities such as the “Hanzehof” in Zutphen or the “Orpheus” in Apeldoorn.
